The Fog of the Grey Cliffs

Autumn of 1971. Mireya Albornoz, a linguist, arrives at an archipelago in southern Chile to record the last voices of a dying dialect. She carries a magnetic tape that preserves the voice of her dead husband, one she cannot bring herself to erase. In the village of Trelche, the fog of the estuary has a name, and every autumn the village elders choose who loses it.
